BlackTop Coffee, a Funky Coffee Bar Serving Up High-End Brew in Los Angeles 0 71

Los Angeles Arts District

In a busy city such as Los Angeles, it is not surprising to see a rapidly booming repertoire of coffee shops. After all, coffee is considered a necessity for most people on a daily basis, with some even needing a couple or more per day. With the wide range of coffee shops to choose from, an establishment needs to have a certain characteristic that will set it apart from the others.

It is a good thing Blacktop Coffee in Los Angeles has that distinct quality that allows it to stand out among the bigger names in the coffee industry. Though the establishment itself is relatively small, the space is visually rewarding, enough to make you come back for your daily dose of caffeine.

What makes Blacktop Coffee different is that it aims to build the local community while also prioritizing excellent customer experience. This, according to Tyler J. Wells, is their ultimate goal, aside from serving quality coffee. Wells is the owner of Blacktop and is also the co-founder of  Handsome Coffee, which has already been bought by Blue Bottle.

The menu is also pretty simple. For your espresso drinks, you can choose whether you want it black, white, or chocolate. If you want brewed coffee, you can choose between the daily or cold brew. They also offer tea, juice and some edibles.

EkoEats, a Korean-inspired Cafe Serves Up Quick-Serve Salads, Korean-Fried Chicken and Tofu

In the heart of Los Angeles’ downtown financial district lies a cozy Korean inspired restaurant called Eko Eats and people are very pleased. It is the passion project of Chef Judy Han, who is also the sole owner of the place, as she intends to offer not only delicious but healthy and practical Korean food for everyone to enjoy.

This is great news for vegans and people who have dietary restrictions who always find it challenging to look for a place where they can eat to their hearts’ content. Eko Eats has a lot of vegan and gluten-free options on their menu, as well as traditional Korean dishes for those who love to eat just about anything.

Chef Han gets her poultry and other produce from a sustainable, local Southern California farmer that is why people can be assured that the food they eat is only made from the freshest ingredients.

For gatherings and events, Eko Eats also offers catering services, but it should be noted that 48 hours notice is required as much as possible. They also offer delivery, with a delivery charge, to any location that is within walking distance from them.

Their traditional Korean dishes such as bibimbap, kimchi fried rice, jook (porridge), and Korean fried chicken are worth trying as well as other items on their simple and practical menu.
