How to Use A/B Testing for Your Marketing Assets 0 70

How to Use A:B Testing for Your Marketing Assets

You have the best product possible or perhaps the best kind of service available for your specific industry or niche. Your operations are sailing smoothly and you have tweaked your product or service to the point that it is already the best in the market. You have toiled and given blood sweat and tears to reach the level of quality where you are right now, and you are now ready to tackle the dog eat dog world of business.

But there is one problem that comes to stop you in your tracks, and that is the problem of proper marketing, specifically the choice of your marketing material.

The digital world is littered with blogs offering you a lot of business advice, some useful some not so much. However, one marketing technique that has stood the test of time is to do an A/B marketing material experiment to a selected audience or a portion of your clients and leads.

But first, what is an A/B marketing material experiment? Simply put, this is the process where you show two options to the audience and ask for their suggestions, recommendations, and comments about which would be the better marketing asset. In marketing or business courses, the term this is a split test, which is very aptly named. Here the audience is not the only one that is split but also the marketing materials, and you let the marketing audience think about the two or more said marketing materials.

While there are a lot of marketing materials that you can use and templates to apply and improve upon, the social aspect given by doing the A/B marketing test is immensely valuable because not only will you get more recommendations and improvements, you will already be putting your logo and marketing efforts at the back of their minds.

Doing the A/B marketing material experiment has led to a lot of great results. There are a lot of case studies that can be found on the internet that shows how big the increase and efficiency of the marketing material when it has gone through the A/B marketing material experiment, as compared to just sending out different marketing materials at the same time. An increase of almost 20% is the usual result with regards to the reach of the brand and lead conversion.

The A/B marketing material experiment traces its roots from statistics by applying the more academic two-sample hypothesis testing, and instead of using social issues as the topics, the A/B marketing test look for the brand recognition through the use of the marketing material.

Segmenting and Targeting

Market segmentation and targeting are very important in the marketing lifecycle. The A/B testing actually helps you fulfills both market segmentation and targeting since you have, in a loose sense, segmented the target audience by splitting them to show different marketing materials so that you will know what marketing asset would target them the best.

A/B testing is very popular in marketing online and even for web analytics. For instance, you can make two different material showing a different perspective. For example, one marketing asset will be more focused on a lower price for the product or service. The second marketing asset will focus on either more products or services to be provided at the same price that can be found in the market. Both are actually, in essence, discounts but just worded in a different way.

You may also notice some Facebook pages having different banners. Banners are actually a very useful marketing tool because it stays in the subconscious. Because you can see it prominently, the mind will capture it and then you ignore it. However, it is not truly ignored because it stays in your brain for quite some time. What you do not know is that the banner you see in the Facebook page was actually A/B tested first when the business owner or manager contracted someone, perhaps a graphic designer, to create a set of eye-catching banners. Once the set has been received, they do a test on it by sending to different target audiences in a small population, let us say around 30 people each, and then ask for the opinions and thoughts of the said audience. The banner that was the most well received will be the banner that they will add to your Facebook timeline and other social media accounts.

A tool that can help

Let us see that you already have the two marketing materials to be contrasted and compared. If you have already sent those assets to the tooth target groups and you have already received the results. A lot of business owners and managers will be tempted to just look at the numbers and then get the one with the highest conversions or results. That may work but only for a time. If you want to improve not only your marketing results but your marketing process, reviewing the data is important. Do not just leave the data after you already decided on what marketing material to use. Analyze it first. By doing so, you will be more well informed on what seems perhaps or what competitive advantages that you have which you have not noticed and then plan another marketing campaign. With your experience, making a new marketing campaign would be easier and more successful, because you have applied what you have learned.

Most of the business owners and managers will just use Microsoft Excel to tabulate the data and then make visual representations. That is good and all, but there are other more powerful and simpler online tools that are available to you.  One example would be the website A/B Test Guide, which is a free tool that can make not only graphs about the data and numbers but a tool that you can also use as a statistical aid, where you can get standard error deviations and then the more complex ratios like a z-score.

Doing an A/B testing is actually standard procedure now with online marketing campaigns. Do not miss out on doing so.

16 Ways to Eat Healthy and Stay Healthy 0 76

16 Ways to Eat Healthy and Stay Healthy

There are hundreds if not thousands of advice on how to have a healthy diet.  And in most cases, these pieces of advice would contradict each another.

But why?

You should know that each person responds differently to a certain diet. What works for you might not work for your friend and vice versa.

Some of the tips provided below might contradict with one another because you were not meant to do all of them. You just have to find out what works for you.

Here are 26 ways of eating healthily. Try them out and check which one works for you.

  1. Fast for an 8 hour period

When our body is in a fasting state it tends to burn fat quickly. Or to be more precise, after not eating for at least 8 hours our bodies enter a fat burning state called ketosis. Our bodies burn stored fats to sustain itself. So if you’re looking to burn some fat, then you better try this diet out.

  1. Eat whole foods

Unprocessed food will give you the most benefits. Processing foods will take out their natural nutrients leaving you with an edible but less nutritious meal. Also processed foods may contain preservatives which aren’t really good for your health.  So try eating some freshly grown carrots or some fresh fruits.

  1. Try the Mediterranean diet

Do what the Greeks do. Eat a meal with fish, fresh vegetables, and a glass of delicious wine.  Research shows that the Mediterranean diet can help lower the risk of heart disease.

  1. Look at the back of the product

Look at the back of the product, it contains all the ingredients used to make it.

A lot of “healthy” foods in the market may contain artificial preservatives. To avoid this look at the ingredients of the product to determine if it’s actually good for you or not.

  1. Eat slowly

Take it slow. Don’t chow down on your food like you’re in some kind of all you can eat buffet. Savor every meal by savoring every bite.  Research shows that eating slowly can trick your brain that your stomach is full. This means you’ll be eating fewer calories and still feel full.

  1. Eat some crunchy foods

And by crunchy foods, we don’t mean chocolate bars and candies. No, we’re talking about celery, peas, peanuts, and apples.  These foods take a long time to eat and they take a long time to digest. Which means you won’t go hungry and you won’t eat more calories that your body can’t handle.

  1. Don’t skip meals

Some people don’t have the discipline and the willpower to try diets that involve skipping meals.  If you aren’t disciplined or you have low self-control, then we don’t advise that you skip meals. You’ll only eat more food since you’ll be hungrier.

  1. Drink more water

If you aren’t drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water per day, then you better start now. Water doesn’t just help you rehydrate, it also helps keep your body going. Research even indicates that drinking the recommended glasses of water daily can help reduce the chances of getting fat and being overweight.

  1. Always have fruits nearby

The easiest way to break your healthy diet is by having nothing healthy to eat. If you get hungry at home and you’re too lazy to buy some fruits at the supermarket, then you’re probably going to buy some chocolate bars at the nearest convenience store. Having some fresh fruits nearby will allow you to faithfully follow your diet plan.

  1. Eat often

We tend to eat a lot if our body hasn’t eaten for a very long time. Research indicates that eating between meals can help reduce our appetites allowing us to eat less food. Eating between 1 to 2 hours will help us digest food better and helps us absorb more nutrients in the long run.

  1. Have some cheat days

Eating some ice cream or some chocolate bars from time to time wouldn’t hurt.  If you’re not used to eating healthy then you might break down and go back to your potato chip eating ways. To avoid this, have some cheat days now and then.

  1. Eliminate temptation

This might sound like some phrase from the bible but the best way to eat healthily is by removing unhealthy foods in your fridge. Yes, say goodbye to those chocolate bars, alcohol, and soft drinks that you keep. If unhealthy foods are just within arm’s reach, then you will definitely be tempted to eat them. The best way to fight your desire for unhealthy foods is by removing them completely.

  1. Eat real fruits

Just because something has a picture of an orange in it doesn’t mean it actually contains real oranges! Real fruits aren’t as sweet nor as addictive as candy bars with fruit flavors. Real fruits contain natural fructose which is good for your body.

So don’t be fooled by products with pictures of fruit on their covers.

  1. Don’t even think about eating low-fat or diet foods

What’s the difference between a coke and a diet coke?

Answer. Not a lot because they’re both bad for you. Low-fat or diet foods often have less sugar, less fat, and less unhealthy than its counterparts. However, they’re still unhealthy.

If you’re going to drink coke, then you better drink the regular one because it’s tastier than the diet version of it. Both of them are still processed foods and they still contain artificial preservatives that are bad for your body.

  1. Make your own food

The best way to know if something is healthy or not is to make it yourself. Sure, fast food is easy and very delicious but you’ll end getting up fat and sickly if you keep on eating it.

When you make your own meals, you are making sure that you are eating exactly what you want to eat. So if you want to eat healthily, then cook for yourself.

  1. Create a meal plan

If you simply eat without a plan, then you’re doing it wrong. Planning your meals in advance will make sure that you eat better and save more money in the long run. And just like cooking your own meals, you are making sure that you are eating exactly what you want to eat.

How to Choose the Best Rain Gear 0 57

How to Choose the Best Rain Gear

If you’re completely oblivious to the different types of rain gear, then you’re probably going to determine a rain gear’s worth by its price.  However, in most cases, the price isn’t an accurate way to determine a product’s quality and usefulness.

So if you would like to save money and get the best possible rain gear that you can afford, then this article is a definite must-read.

This article will brief you on the various terminologies surrounding rain gears so you can better assess a rain gear’s quality.

So what is a Rain Gear?

Rain gear is any form of water-resistant or waterproof clothing that will protect you from the rain. Heck, even a giant piece of tarpaulin can be considered as a rain gear. What matters is that it will protect you from the rain.

Features you should look out for in a rain gear

You have to take a look at the different features offered by the rain gear. Extra pockets, cool design, and adjustability will determine if a rain gear is convenient or not.

Fully Taped Seams

Just because a rain gear is made out of waterproof materials, doesn’t mean that it can fully protect you from the rain.  There is a minor chance of rain leaking into your rain gear if it isn’t fully seam taped.

Check if the rain gear if has taped seams or not.

Looks

This is purely for aesthetic reasons.  But if you think you look cool or good in a rain gear, then it may be worth trying it out.

Adjustability

This is a very important feature to have.  Check if the rain gear has a drawcord or any form of adjustable features.  An amazing rain gear that cannot be adjusted is useless.

Pockets

Most rain jackets and rain gear today come with pockets. But not all of them have waterproof zippers and hidden pockets. Hidden pockets are useful to protect your stuff from pickpockets and waterproof zippers protect your stuff completely from the rain.

Now you need to know some terminologies to help you determine if a rain gear is good or not. Some terminologies that you should be acquainted with are:

Breathability

Breathability is a very important factor when it comes to rain gear. In fact, most people would prefer a breathable rain gear with minimal protection rather than a stuffy and hot rain gear with superior protective capabilities.

A breathable rain gear allows air to easily come in and out of the clothing.  Breathability also refers to the efficient transfer of water vapor in and out of the rain gear. Most high-quality rain jackets are breathable and the best way to test a rain gear’s breathability is by trying it out yourself.

  • Pros of Breathable Rain Gear

Breathable rain gears simply allow you to be more comfortable and feel less stuffy.  So, in short, you’ll feel more at home when wearing a rain gear with superior breathability.

  • Cons of Breathable Rain Gear

It’s not really a con but rain gear with high breathability also have poor insulation since it is technically letting the warm air out and letting the cold air in.

DWR

DWR or “Durable Water Repellant” is a finish added to your rain gear to make it “water repellant.   DWR finish is very crucial in keeping you warm and dry during a heavy thunderstorm.  DWR coatings give you lots of extra protection. It’s especially useful if you’re wearing water-resistant clothing.

  • Pros of DWR coating

DWR coatings give you extra water protection. That’s it.

  • Cons of DWR coating

Since it is a finish, it may wear after a while. This means that you have to apply again after it loses its touch.

Types of Rain Gear Layers

There are 3 types of rain gear designs used by rain jackets worldwide.  All of them have their various advantages and disadvantages. All of these designs feature an outer layer that repels rain and an inner layer which prevents sweat and body oils from being absorbed by the jackets.

These rain gear designs include the:

  • 2 Layer Design

2 layer rain are usually the standard rain jacket design found all over the world. It contains an outer fabric layer that repels rain and it has a thin liner hanging inside to protect the membrane.  This design makes it easy for the wearer to move and it makes as little noise as possible.  2 layer jackets are often favored by travelers and hikers who prefer a balance between mobility and protection.

  • 2.5 Layer Design

This design uses lightweight and durable fabrics to protect it from the rain. It has a second layer made out of waterproof coating (usually polyurethane laminate). Finally, we have a protective print laid down between the second and first layer. This is commonly known as the “half-layer”

The 2.5 layer design is actually lighter than the 2 layer design. Despite having more “layers”, its lightweight construction and design allow it to be lighter and more mobile than the 2 layer design.

The bad thing about this design is that it isn’t very durable. It is made out of lightweight materials and it usually offers less protection than the 2.5 layer and 3 layer design. It also offers poor breathability as well.

But on the good side, the 2.5 layer rain gear is very cheap and very affordable. So if you like a cheap and effective rain gear that does its job, then you might want to try this rain gear design.

  • 3 Layer Design

Last but not the least (in fact it’s the best!) we have the 3 layer design.  This design features a membrane of rugged fabric and thick liner to offer you the best possible rain protection.  It is generally the most durable, most breathable, and most reliable rain gear design.

The 3 layer design was meant for the harshest and most unforgiving environments. If you want to keep dry and stay dry, then you better get rain gear with a 3 layer design.

The only bad thing about this design is its price. Most 3 layer designed rain gear is really expensive. But we highly recommend that you get it if you have the cash.

Make these ideas as your habits when you out hunting for a new rain gear.
